This was a challenging but exciting project.
Blue Waters Lodge is a guest house that had one boiler heating the main building’s central heating and hot water, then another combination boiler supplying heating and hot water to an annex for the owners.
The old cast-iron boiler heating the main building had a fault but the parts were no longer available. The time had come for a replacement, which presented an opportunity for a massive upgraded to the entire system.
A Vaillant ecoTEC PLUS 832 combination boiler has replaced both boilers. The heating to the main building and annex and the hot water cylinder were separated by motorised valves, thermostats and individual timers. The hot water for the annex now comes straight from the combination boiler, so when the main building is not being used out of season, energy is not wasted heating up the entire stored water supply.
As with every install, both heating systems were flushed and a Spirotech MB3 dirt filter and a Spirotech RV2 de-aerator installed for ongoing boiler and heating system protection.
The difference in performance was apparent immediately. When we returned for the final checks the clients took great delight in telling us the house was too hot and it had never been so good!
We were really pleased with this one; it even exceeded our expectations.
