This project was a complete heating source and hot water refurb, a re-pipe of the airing cupboard from start to finish, and another incredibly satisfying job to do as the customer also took advantage of the fantastic combination of products and controls available from Vaillant.
The existing open-vented boiler was old and tired. The gravity hot and cold water system just didn’t work well; pumps had been added to solve flow issues but the noise was a nuisance.
Yeoman (SW) Ltd completely redesigned the system, using the best options for this scenario. A Vaillant Exclusive Green IQ was installed with a Vaillant Unistore unvented cylinder, complete with a Stuart Tuner mains water boost accumulator. The results were absolutely phenomenal. The home owner could now run every water outlet in the two bathrooms and kitchen with no fluctuation whatsoever in the flow of water.
In addition to the massive upgrade to the hot and cold water, the heating system operates far beyond what it was capable of before. The 240v time clock and thermostats were removed and a Vaillant vSMART installed. The home owner now has full control of their heating and the temperature of the stored hot water cylinder via their mobile devices. Unlike regular 240v controls or other smart controls, the vSMART modulates the output of the boiler as required. These intelligent controls use weather and load compensation to ensure the boiler runs as efficiently as possible using the minimum energy required to heat the home and reducing fuel bills.
In addition to the Vaillant controls, a Vaillant Protection Pack was installed, increasing the 7 year warranty to a 10 year warranty.
As with all our installations, the heating system received a full flush removing suspended iron oxide and dirt from the radiators and associated pipework.
